Employment is a means to an easier life as money is a huge help to supporting a family. Employment is often seen as a struggle for single parent families though due to money being tight and having o make a wage last. Employment is tough for lone parent families as some workers have nowhere to leave their children when they go off to work. I was in this situation myself for a while, I had to leave my daughter with her grandparents whilst I worked 12 hours a day in a job that I hated just so I could put food on the table. Life can be hard and living can be even harder without the funds to support a family. There are options out there nowadays, some employers are family orientated and provide crèches for you to leave your child whilst you work in the same building. There are some employers that agree to flexible working hours allowing you to sort out better child care. There are even some employers who allow men to take paternity leave along with the mothers maternity leave. Don’t allow one bad employer to put you off looking for that perfect job where you can balance working hours with parenthood. I managed it in the end, I volunteered at the local nursery so I was able to be with my daughter whilst I worked. I then soon found my dream job and have never looked back with regret.
